Rykneld Wellbeing Team

Meet our Team

Mrs HallamMy name is Mrs Hallam. I’ve been a Teaching Assistant for five years and have been at Rykneld for three years. Previous to this role, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in a school in Cyprus.

I deliver the ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) programme to support children to understand and regulate their emotions whilst also respecting the feelings of those around them.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and playing netball for my local team.

My name is Mrs Pickering. I’ve worked at Rykneld for the last three years as a teaching assistant and thoroughly enjoy my role. Prior to this I have worked in a nursey setting and for the NHS.

I deliver the HOPE (Helping Our Pupils’ Emotions) project, a listening service which provides one to one support for children who are experiencing emotional difficulties. It also offers support in bereavement, loss, anxiety sadness and low self-esteem.

In my spare time, I enjoy going on walks with my family and friends and keeping fit at the gym.

Our dedicated Wellbeing Team was created to ensure that all members of our school community felt supported. We believe that wellbeing is for everyone. We want to ensure that the support needed is recognised and implemented, and that all school staff work cohesively together with the schools Wellbeing Team.

Our school ethos is underpinned in our Mental Health and Wellbeing approach. We want our young people to Achieve the best they can, Believe in themselves and others and Care for themselves and those around them. Our team are here to support a range of children who are experiencing emotional difficulties that is impacting on their learning

We believe in our young people being:

  • Independent and resilient
  • Able to seek help when they need it
  • Able to manage their feelings
  • Able to problem solve
