Rykneld Wellbeing Team
Meet our Team
Mrs Hallam
I have been working as a Teaching Assistant for the past seven years. Before this, I spent three years living in Cyprus, where I also worked as a Teaching Assistant in a local school.
As an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA), I deliver targeted support programmes that help children understand, manage and express their emotions effectively, while also developing empathy and respect for the feelings of others.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends and I play both netball and hockey for my local teams.
Mrs Pickering
I have been a Teaching Assistant at Rykneld for the past seven years and thoroughly enjoy my role within the school community. Before joining Rykneld, I worked in a nursery setting and for the NHS, where I gained valuable experience supporting children and families.
As a qualified Mental Health First Aid Practitioner, I am passionate about supporting the emotional wellbeing of young people. I enjoy helping children to overcome challenges, build confidence, and reach their full potential. I also value working closely with families, offering guidance and support to ensure children receive the best possible care and encouragement both at school and at home.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going for walks and keeping active by working out in my home gym.
Our dedicated Wellbeing Team was created to ensure that all members of our school community felt supported. We believe that wellbeing is for everyone. We want to ensure that the support needed is recognised and implemented, and that all school staff work cohesively together with the schools Wellbeing Team.
Mrs Hallam & Mrs Pickering are both qualified as Mental Health First Aiders.
