Parent Partnership

At Rykneld we value the partnership we have with parents and believe children achieve best when we all work together to support the learning of our pupils.

We offer parents and grandparents frequent opportunities to come into school to share in their children’s learning through a variety of events, including drop in sessions, musical performances, story-time in the library, joining in with family trips, cookery and Early Years Stay and Play.

In order to support parents in helping their child at home we also organise several parent workshops including phonics, reading, maths, behaviour management and information workshops about a range of special educational needs.

As a school we recognise the wealth of talents that parents have and operate a very successful parent volunteer scheme. Many parents help in school on a regular basis to work with children supporting them in range of activities including reading, maths, cookery, art and sewing. Parents also help on educational visits and during various themed activity days. If you are interested in volunteering in school, please contact the school office or speak to you child’s class teacher.

Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA)

The PTFA is a friendly group of willing parents, family members and staff who organise extremely successful fundraising and social events ranging from discos to bingos and fayres. The vast majority of what we do is to raise funds to pay for additional resources for the school to enhance the learning experience for all our children at Rykneld. Parents and friends of the school are welcome to join the committee so please get in touch via the school office if you are interested. Please view the attached document to find out further information about recent events.
