Many of our children are playing the online game Fortnite, which is rated suitable for players aged 12. The NSPCC have recently issued some guidance urging parents to be vigilant because Fortnite automatically lets users speak to other gamers through text chat and voice chat. This means that children can be contacted by anyone else playing the game. According to fresh research from O2 and the NSPCC, one in four children have been contacted by someone they do not know across some of the most popular apps and games currently out. To ensure your child’s safety, turn the voice chat off through the settings menu. However, the text chat cannot be disabled. If you need any support with changing the settings within the game, please do not hesitate to contact us.
